Punjab University Syndicate to Decide on Re-evaluation of MBBS Papers

The Punjab University Syndicate, the established governing body of the university, has finally decided on the re-evaluation of the MBBS papers for the medical students of GMCH. This is among unique decisions taken by the syndicate in the recent times.

The decision comes jointly by Prof Jagat Bhushan, principal of the Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences, Punjab University, Dr Amod Gupta, Dr AK Janmeja, Director, GMCH, Dr Ravi Gupta, Medical Superintendent, GMCH, Senator Navdeep Goyal and Parvinder Singh -Controller of Examinations.

The evaluators who are enrolled for re-evaluation will not be from the same group.  Separate group of examiners have been selected to keep the transparency intact. In this way, the results are going to be quite realistic and satisfactory.  Furthermore, the examiners for theory and practical exams will also be not the same. The amendment in the rules is executed after Panjab University Chief Vigilance Officer probed a case based on complaint filed by Dr Dasari Harish and Dr Amandeep Singh of the GMCH. It is expected that such changes in the examination structure, are going to add high levels of motivation among the medical students of GMCH.
